Have a Question? Here’s an Answer
What is your training methodology?

We use a method based off of Fear Free and Force Free positive reinforcement.
What tools will be used?
We will use various tools depending on your pet. These may include head collars (Gentle Leaders or Halti- Collars), buckle collars, leashes, harnesses, Martingale collars and clickers. You will receive one treat bag and two clickers for your program, regardless of the type of program you are doing. If a prong collar, choke chain, or shock (electronic or E-collar) collar is on the dog, you will be asked to remove it as this is not apart of the Fear Free training.
Why am I not allowed to use a prong or pinch collar?
Prong and pinch collars actually promote fear, stress, and aggression. In addition to this, as said previously, we like to use Fear Free practices when training our best friends.
Do you train Emotional Support Dogs, Service Dogs or Therapy Dogs?
We train Therapy and Service Dogs. We only train POTS, PTSD, Hearing, Psychiatric, and Mobility service dogs at this time. Emotional support dogs and therapy dogs do not have the same public accesses as service dogs but we can train the obedience for all above mentioned. As a reminder, bringing an emotional support dog or an untrained dog being passed as a service dog into a building that is not pet friendly is a federal crime.

Service Dogs have their own section in the Services portion of our website. We train and certify Therapy Dogs. However, we are not a Therapy Dog program so you will likely have to go to a different program or find a place of interest on your own.
Why do you require a veterinarian to examine and possibly do tests on my pet before some behavior sessions or after my dog passes a service dog evaluation?
Some things that you may see as a behavior issue, are sometimes a medical issue. Some pets require medications as well. We require this for service dogs to ensure a lifetime of service work versus training just for a dog to have an increase in breed related issues. It is our job to make the physical and mental health of the pet the best it could be. We will gladly refer you to a veterinarian in your area we recommend in order to get you all taken care of. You are also more than welcome to use your own veterinarian for a physical exam. Some may also require blood work or other diagnostics.
Where do you service?
We have several trainers now! This means we service all of Indianapolis and then some of the surrounding cities. Some of the surrounding areas may require a fuel fee in addition to your regular charge.
What is your refund policy?
Unfortunately there is no guarantee in a pet's behavior, even after training. Refunds are given on a case by case basis. Usually refunds are only awarded to those that are doing better than expected for BEHAVIORAL training only. On occasion, with an ailing pet and a veterinary diagnosis, we will give a 50% refund.
I want my dog to become a Canine Good Citizen. Do you have training for that?
We sure do! As a reminder, if you wish to do this with an adult dog, you can do this at any time. However, for the STAR Puppy Test, the AKC requires a minimum of 6 weeks training class. We offer these as well. We also test for Trick Dog titles.
Do you have any agility, nose work or rally training?
We do not do nose work or agility. However, we do Rally training and conformation training. We do not have group classes at this time so these are still private lessons.
Is my pet too old to train?
Not at all! Depending on the pet's personality, they are usually more fast learning than younger pets.
Do you offer Board and Train Programs?
We only offer board and train services for service dog clients under specific situations.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you still have any questions about Maggie's Foundation work.
